Objectives:

Women on the Move Inc. leads a unique capacity building program called The Artemis Project. The Artemis Project accelerates business outcomes for women entrepreneurs in the Mining and Metals industry.

The program is designed to equip women entrepreneurs with senior level sales training, senior level sales coaching, senior level sales business introductions and senior level sales business connections.

Background Info:

Empowering women to participate fully in economic life across all sectors is essential to build stronger economies, achieve internationally agreed goals for development and sustainability, and improve the quality of life for women, men, families and communities.

Women’s empowerment is front and center in 2019 as more companies, communities and countries invest in women’s entrepreneurship. Women are crucial to economic growth around the world. Based on our experiences, women entrepreneurs see the world through a different lens and, in turn, do things differently (not better, just differently). World Economic forums such as APEC, formally recognize that women entrepreneurs require different support to drive their businesses to the next level.

Today, less than 2% of women entrepreneurs reach $1M in annual revenue, in Canada. Less than 1% of supply chains procure with women entrepreneurs. These statistics have not changed in 15 years. They say our future depends on innovation, largely through entrepreneurs.

Given the need for innovation in the mining and metals industry, accelerating women entrepreneurs is an urgent imperative. Furthermore, for every one employee in mining and metals companies, there are four in the mining and metals supply chain, indicating the importance and scale of the Mining and Metals supply chain.

Purpose:

The purpose of The Artemis Project is to accelerate and expand business outcomes for women entrepreneurs in Mining and Metals.
